Michael and Stephanie Taylor
big brother and little sister
1978

My brother, Michael Reid Taylor, born April 5, 1973 a short 11 months and one week before I was born. I never in this world would have thought that I would be saying good-bye to him so soon. The day his short life of 29 years ended my world came crashing down. Mike has touched many, many lives in his time on this earth, but none have been touched or impacted directly by Mike like mine has.

My brother was at the hospital with my dad and mom when I was born, Mike in a tshirt and a diaper, with spaghetti - O's all over his face. I was to be his little sister, the one thing that he would quickly become protective of and love the way he loved all the people in his life - unconditionally.

Mike and I were so close in age that we shared a crib and baths together when we were little. We did everything together. Mike was a leader and teacher in everything he did in life and started at a very young age - when he decided it was time to potty train me. He would help me onto my potty chair and wait patiently until I had finished - whether or not I was ready, he would wait and wait...and wait. I was his 'baby', that was what he called me. Now, as we all know Mike had a heart of pure gold, he was an angel sent directly from heaven to touch many people's lives. You would think that as his little sister I would have many stories to tell you that would show his "other side", but I don't.

I will be making many contributions to this tribute page to my brother because it is the only way I know how to begin the healing process of this great loss in my life. I hope that many of you will come back and take the journey through Mike's life with me as I share many stories, most of which I hope will make you laugh and smile. Mike was a great co-worker to many of you who will read and contribute to this website, but he was also a brother, and I hope that I can shed some light on his role as a brother because he was the best brother that any sibling could ever ask for.

I love you Michael.

Your sister,
Stephanie
